Had a really racist old woman come into where I work the other day. Alas, I don’t deal well with bigotry, so I ended up talking rudely back to her and telling her off multiple times for her behavior. I get that from my mom. My dad’s mother is a bit racist and homophobic, and my mom does NOT allow that around her. At all.
As my Great Aunt (Who’s practically my father’s mother) has gotten more senile, she just can’t hide how racist she is! My mom’s parents were much better. I’ve heard Grampa say “colored” but I think he just forgot it wasn’t socially acceptable.
My grandparents are/were (as not all of them are still alive) very tolerant of other races. Other religions is a different matter, which can be rather problematic as I’m the only non-Christian in the family who lives locally (well, only one grandmother has a problem with it, the other side is more tolerant of differing religious views, strange as that grandfather was a Presbyterian preacher).
Hahaha! So true! Are all grandmas racist?! Cause mine is! And we’re Hispanic!
“Are all grandmas racist?!”
No. I remember once using the word “Jap” after seeing an old War Movie. My grandmother gave me quite the talking to.
I’m pretty lucky, my grand parents were not racist. In fact, they embrace love of all people, including all races, and sexuality.

I love how JoAnn looks slightly woodblocked in her profiles for this comic.
